love your natural hair {erin's makover & photoshoot}

March 14, 2013 in video, makeover & photoshoot, portrait photography

There is a common plight among women. We aren't happy with our hair. If it's curly, we wish it were straight. If it's straight, we wish it were curly. Talk to just about any woman you know and you'll quickly see what I mean. I'm sure there's an infographic or stats list somewhere that tells just how much money we ladies spend on hair products, flat irons and trips to the salon every year.

so appreciate my hair products, but I am also trying to find that happy place where I work with my hair rather than against it. It looks so much better now that I'm not fighting the force that is my natural hair. I still wish it were different at times, but it's so much less stressful to embrace what God gave me and I feel better about myself. And if you want to find ways to embrace your own natural hair, join me on Pinterest and check out my hair & makeup board.

Erin recently was brave enough to unleash her natural locks. I had seen 1 photo of Erin several years ago with her hair in all it's natural glory. It's not something she shows people. When I was designing her glamor portrait session I knew it had to be with her natural hair. he was some what hesitant, but she agreed to let me not only see her natural hair, but to photograph it. I can't tell you how blessed I am to be able to share a vision for a session with a client and to have them completely trust me, even if they have some reservations. I am so thankful for Erin's trust and for Sarah of Butterfly Artistry who joined us. She is a beautiful woman and a very gifted makeup artist.

Erin got to see her portraits for the first time last night. It was so heartwarming to see her speechless and in awe of the portraits we created. She hardly believed that she was looking at photos of her. I assured her that it was indeed her and not some Photoshopped version of her.

I hope you enjoy hearing Erin's story.

If you're ready to be you in all your fabulous glory, book your session today. In order to give each client the love and attention they deserve, sessions are limited to 1 per week.
